I’m a 46 year-old woman who woke up one day and realized that I’M FAT. My BMI was over 30. That makes me obese. I weighed over 200 pounds and since I’m only 5’6″ that was a real problem. I’ve tried off and on over the years to lose weight. I’ve dieted. I’ve worked out. I’ve had a personal trainer. blah, blah, blah, blah. I have a supremely incredible talent for EATING and laying on my ASS. So I want to make some REAL changes this time. I’m hopeful that this blog will keep me honest.

Ok PJ – I needed a laugh and like always…you deliver. I can hear your voice in every word that you write. Seriously, you have missed your calling because you are a fantastic author (probably doesn’t pay as well as sales, so you likely made the correct choice…at least financially…got to be able to pay for the peanut butter!) I share in your love for peanut butter. Can’t tell you how many times I have sat alone at night…freaking out over my medical mess….with a heaping spoon full of that stuff in my mouth. It is like INSTANT happiness. I prefer creamy though! I am so incredibly proud of you and the bike. What a huge personal triumph. I can relate a bit…when we completed the Danskin last summer after a year of working out…I was glowing from the inside out (much like being pregnant without the horrific labor pains at the end). Would love to see your smiling face and hear that joyous voice in person. Give Jess a hug and love to you both – Michelle

I’m glad it made you laugh. This getting in shape crap is tough and I couldn’t begin to do it without humor. I’m seeing a dietician and she asked me “what do you like with your peanut butter?” and I was like “a spoon.” DUH!

I would love to see you. What would be the best way for us to get together? I could meet you in Georgetown for lunch or anything. You name it. I’m booked tomorrow and this Friday, but other than that you name it sister!

    Biggie,
I’m the fundraisier for the Family Crisis Center in Bastrop., guess you could say that I’m the party girl. The Pedal event is my “baby”, love it so much! Love to see you cyclsits burn the roads. I’m a beginner cyclsits, have been for 3 years now. You rode the Pedal event in March and I came accross your blog! I spend alot of time after the event researching every thing I can about what people write about the Center’s Pedal event. But your blog is alittle different. You have a wonderful style of writing, it’s called truthful and to the point. You have a great sense of humor and I have really enjoyed learning about you thru your blog.
It seems we have a few things in common, like the thing about starting something new, being really geared up for it, and then the fizzle comes……
I see you have recently become a vegan, or veggie. I have been living the life style strictly for the last 5 years. I was a size 16 busting out, would probaly skip the size 18 and swing my butt into a 20 when I decided no more! I have been a practicing vegan earlier in life, and that is what my body responds to the most. In the first year I dropped 32 pounds and learned how to successfully keep it off, the second year another 19 pounds and have successfully kept it off, now 5 years later, a size 8! I get more time on my trainer than I do road time, not complaning about it, as I lead a very busy life style and have nice garden to work in.
Know I’m thinking of you, wishing you well, and am enjoying your wonderful spirit thru your writing.
    Charlotte
